Create a Dynamic Slideshow with ActionScript 3.0 and XML

This entry is part 1 of 3 in the series Create a Dynamic Slideshow with AS3 and XML

In this screencast I’ll show you how to create a dynamic slideshow using ActionScript 3.0 and how to grab the images from an xml file. We’ll keep the FLA empty except for the path to our Document Class and also create a custom class that will act as the engine for the slideshow. This is a file you can use over and over again, I hope you find it useful!

    Awwwe!! :(

I was looking forward to getting the source files from tuts Part II and III but the files are not working for some reason. Please fix!

  2. Nice job, but a loading bar would be better. Images take long to load. And maybe a fadeout effect could be added

What is all this “tween engine” stuff about? I’ve been looking everywhere for a tutorial on how to make a rotating banner like this from scratch and I see right at the beginning talk of an engine and I have no idea what it’s for?
