AS3 Fullscreen Scrollbar

This scrollbar is coded in AS3 and will automatically resize according to the amount of content, unlike a lot of other Flash scrollbars. You can set the track color, grabber color, grabber press color, grip color, track thickness, grabber thickness, ease amount and whether or not the grabber is “shiny”.

cool, is it possible to incorporate this into a site built in AS2?

  7. Dave says:

This is awesome and very useful, but I really think you should make a tutorial and tell everyone how you went about creating this. And maybe how to convert it to horizontal as well?

    Thanks again.

  8. That Scroll is amazing, the best part is auto scrollable. Thanks for sharing.

nice work. Can’t have enough scroll bar’s in the arsenal.

@shampi – hit the ‘add copy’ button until the text goes off you screen and the scrollbar appears.

I used your fantastic scrollbar in a seperate swf which is loaded into another swf. For some reason the original text stays visible even while scrolling, creating a double effect…any idea why this is happening?

  13. Hwang says:

How do you update the scroll bar length and stuff when the height of the data changes?

  14. pamela says:

    This is great!

Would you happen to have something like this but for horizontal images?

  15. Brett says:

I am making a full flash page using your scrollbar. I removed the “copy” button and made the paragraph text to blank ” “. I have the scrollbar then to scroll a movie clip I called “contentMC.” In that is a few images spanning the movie clip to about 5000 px. Tested it and it scrolls. Now I realized I wanted to autocenter the movie clip on the stage with ease. I added the code and tested it getting TONSSSS of errors. I remove the “main” class and test the file and everything auto-centers. Is there a solution for this?

I have also tried to externally load the autocentered conent into the “contentMC” movie clip and I still get errors, nothing loads. I remove the “main” class, and my content loads. Same issue with putting in a preloaded before my content on the scrollbar FLA.

Would sending you some of my codes help you? I’m not really sure what to do here. Thanks.
