    tut on reversing an animation.

I always see a site where you click a button and a animation plays introducing you to some kind info say the “about” info where it overlays the splash area or main area.

You hit a close button and the animation reverses(what you just saw a minute ago) going back to the main page/splash page where the previous links were.

    Hope this makes sense. Thanks

Simple really. Just duplicate the frames, rightclick them, and click the option at the bottom ‘reverse frames’.

Then just make the close button.onRelease gotoAndPlay that frame :D

      Hope that made sense.

All Beginner to intermediate flash tutorials are set up for very old versions of Flash.. would be great to help us that are interested but didn’t jump onto the flash bandwagon at once to get up to speed with flash and actionscript!

  6. Pascalv says:

I’d like to see tut aimed at web developer with little experience of Flash, but willing to integrate small elements in their HTML-CSS design. Things like a log-in drop down window, floating contact form, tooltips associated with non-Flash elements, etc.
I’m already doing it for parts like slide show and text banner using great components like SlideshowPro and TxEff. But I lack time to learn Flash from scratch. And that’s where Tuts+ find its niche.
    Thanks

How to build a simple XML editor. I build all my flash sites with an XML backend to handle the storage of content and the image references. I would really love to know how to use either an existing CMS, to manage, and upload content, or to build a simple editor to give my clients the ability to edit the dreaded XML file without having to ever see the code.

  8. I would like to see how to implement background effects with low bandwidth. Laso, bitmap data capabilities for effects.

    Hi.

Firstly, I love the whole tuts+ empire. BLOODY BRILLIANT, thats what I say. Just can’t have enough.

Secondly, a tutorial that I haven’t found anywhere else, is about making two different swf’s, one having navigation buttons, and the other being the main swf, loaded on the same page using html and css, but are linked to each other, i.e. click on a button on the first swf, and the action occurs in the second swf.

Hope I get to see it soon.

    Great job guys.

  19. Asi Epsthain says:

    Hi,

I’ve been seen a very cool video effect in flash sites lately, enabling large fluid videos with low loading times. It appears to load a small video and then spread the pixels out with black spaces in between, creating a darker video ( actually, a very cool look ) but one very precise and flowing, with no scaling noise.
    (example :http://www.gatorade.com/#/products)

I’m guessing it’s done by loading the video into a matrix and then going from:

    P1x1 P1x2 P1x3
    P2x1 P2x2 P2x3
    P3x1 P3x2 P3x3

    to something like:

    P1x1 Black P1x2 Black P1x3
    Black Black Black Black Black
    P2x1 Black P2x2 Black P2x3
    Black Black Black Black Black
    P3x1 Black P3x2 Black P3x3
    Black Black Black Black Black

If anyone knows how to do this, or if it’s done another way. I would love to know.
