For just over three fantastic years FlashDen has been the jewel in Envato’s crown. It is our longest running and most active community, and thanks to the amazing authors who showcase their work there, has become the largest marketplace for Adobe Flash files in the world with over 8,500 items for sale.
Last week Adobe asked us to change our name and URL so that it would no longer contain the term ‘Flash’, which is a registered trademark of Adobe. We know that the success of our sites is about the community and content, not the names. So here at Envato HQ we’ve been busy thinking up new names and we think we’ve found a great new home for both our marketplace and our Tuts+ blog on Flash.
As of today the two sites now live at ActiveDen and Activetuts+.
The new names amend the use of the word Flash, open us up for adding other technologies and are short and memorable! To kick off the new names I thought I’d round up a few of the best tutorials and items on the sites:

That’s really arrogant. On a other website they sewed them because people in the comments said ‘Photoshop’ instead of ‘Adobe Photoshop’. All envato does is help Adobe sell products and they get backstabbed…
Agreed, this is out of line for Adobe. ‘Flash’ is a common word. I don’t see ‘Activetuts’ as having nearly the SEO that the original did. Personally, I would told Adobe to cram it.
For me i already know the flashtuts, it wont change much thing, but it´s sad adobe think that they are owner of the world, this is so arrogant as Saro said, i still love flash and adobe products, but now i will see the company adobe with another eyes.
How the hell can they have a registered trademark of the word ‘flash’!!??? Its a common language word, it can’t be trademarked surely! Can’t believe they would be so arrogant.
Fools. They get nothing bad out of someone PROMOTING thier software through tutorials – why must they be such muppets?

clearly Adobe have their own competitor site on the way and dont want activetuts/activeden to steal their thunder… i hate big corporates, think they own the world!
Take it as a compliment guys, keep up the great work :) i’ve learned more from this network than any of the adobe help sites (other than maybe livedocs – oops, i might get sued becuase i said that)

It’s not a joke, it’s really happening/happened. I think it’s ridiculous to be honest, and I’m willing to bet that Adobe is hurt by this far more than they anticipated.
Sad really… Big Brother thinks it’s all badass it can go pushing around smaller companies such as this… That friggin PROMOTE Big Brother products…
